Did you know? - Road Restriction Alerts

We have enhanced our Road Restriction Alerts solution so customers can now set navigational alerts and hazard warnings on the system, providing greater flexibility and widening the usage of this feature for operators.

What is it…?

Operators using our Road Restriction Alerts solution will now be able to set tailored navigational and hazard warnings within the Ticketer Portal.

Customers can also now set predicted time windows on restrictions with the restriction automatically ending on the specified end date, therefore reducing manual administration. For example in the event of temporary road works or closures with an estimated date for completion.

The new functionality includes associated and easily identifiable icons which will appear on-screen, in addition to the familiar audible alert, to communicate the manner of restriction to the driver. Optional accompanying text to provide further context can also be presented to drivers, should the operator require it.

How does it work?

When creating a new Road Restriction on the Ticketer Portal, within the ‘Road Restriction Type’ drop down option you will now be able to select from a list of possible restrictions such as ‘Height’, ‘Width’, ‘Navigation’ and ‘Hazard’.

If selecting ‘Hazard’, you can either choose from a pre-prescribed list of possible hazards or specify a new one if you so choose. This can be used for all manner of temporal restrictions, allowing operators to easily adapt to seasonal or environmental circumstances which may affect their routes. For example, in the case of icy or flooded roads, operators can mark this as a hazard on the portal, ensuring buses drive carefully along those roads, or to avoid completely.

If selecting ‘Navigation’ you are now able to set restrictions on services such as ‘No Left Turn’, ‘No Right Turn’ or ‘Road Closed’.
