Ticketer has provided fixed and hand-held electronic ticket machines (ETMs) to Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) for the Luton Parkway bus service, to improve customer service on the route. Both fixed and handheld ETMs have been supplied to make it easier for passengers to obtain and use a wide range of tickets.
Ticketer’s handhelds ETMs have exactly the same functionality as the fixed systems and can issue traditional paper tickets as well as accept ITSO Smartcards. The handheld ETMs are used by conductors on the Luton Parkway buses and are integral to the major Smartcard scheme launch on GTR routes.
GTR was able to seamlessly swap their previous ticketing hardware for a fully functioning solution comprising both Ticketer handheld and fixed ETM.
The Ticketer ETMs are also being used to generate weekly reports for GTR, including daily revenue by ticket class and by driver.
Milo Connolly, IT & Technology Project Manager for The Go-Ahead Group, comments: “We chose Ticketer because we wanted a solution which would work ‘out of the box’ and which would deliver standard traditional paper ticketing as well as Smartcard and EMV compatibility. Ticketer is the only main supplier of ITSO smart enabled handheld devices in the market.”
He continues: “The new ETMs were delivered by Ticketer within an extremely tight deadline and the feedback from staff and customers has been very positive.”
