Ticketer appoints new CEO of FARA

13 March 2020

Ticketer is excited to announce the appointment of Solveig Ellila Kristiansen as CEO of FARA.  Last year Ticketer acquired FARA, the Norwegian ticketing company (which also has offices in Poland, Sweden, Finland and Denmark) to increase the company’s product portfolio and strengthen its expansion into mainland Europe.

As FARA CEO, Solveig will spearhead the expansion of FARA and Ticketer technology to provide a suite of class-leading products to further advance the company’s international expansion.

Solveig marries a unique blend of engineering expertise and commercial experience, allied with a clear customer focus from a number of high-level roles in various international IT companies, including General Manager for Dell Norway and Iceland.

“I am excited to join FARA, an international Trondheim-based company with a strong track record in making public travel easy.  With increasing environmental challenges, public transport is becoming an increasingly important solution. In addition, passengers’ expectations are increasing with a demand for real-time information and account-based ticketing.  Public transport will become more digital to make travel easy,” explains Solveig. “FARA has a long history of developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex ticketing systems. Having worked closely with the Norwegian counties for many years, FARA is now transforming and we are expanding the breadth of our products, developing smart solutions also for Sweden, Iceland and Spain.”

John Clarfelt, Ticketer CEO, comments:  “One of the key drivers for Solveig’s appointment was a desire to enhance even further the focus on delivering customer satisfaction in FARA’s key territories.  Following Solveig’s appointment, Ørjan Kirkefjord will move into a new role, focusing on driving sales, innovation and customer satisfaction in the Nordics.   We owe Ørjan a huge debt of gratitude – as the previous CEO, he built FARA into a class-leading company in the region, before managing FARA’s transition into the Ticketer family.”

John continues:  “We are absolutely delighted that Solveig has joined the FARA/Ticketer family for the next stage of our growth.  Whilst her career success shows she has all the technical and commercial expertise to succeed in the role, the key for us was that she also clearly shares the FARA and Ticketer ethos to put the team, and the customer, at the centre of everything we do, and to never rest on our laurels.  These are very exciting times for FARA and Ticketer.”
