Ticketer has a long history of working with Album members to develop its market leading Electronic Ticket Machines, and it is immensely grateful for the contribution that this relationship with Album has made to its growth in the industry.
Innovations in the Ticketer system, including those developed for individual operators, are always made available to all customers. This ability to tailor the Ticketer system has been its key strength and has helped it to become one of the easiest to use, and therefore most popular, ticketing systems in use in the UK.
Ticketer offers a multitude of payment options for passengers, including cash, QR codes, m-ticketing, smartcards and now contactless.
The most recent innovation, the introduction of contactless payments, was developed for Album member Reading Buses. The new Wave and Pay system means that Reading Buses offers the UK’s first town-wide contactless bus network outside of London and is the first independent bus operator to go 100% contactless.
Introducing contactless for Reading now means that Ticketer can look to offer the service to all its customers, with full back-office support.
John Clarfelt, Ticketer’s Managing Director, said “We are looking forward to introducing Album members to contactless. Our team has been working on contactless for some considerable time, and we now have a template to enable other customers to introduce contactless payment options for passengers with the minimum of hassle for them. Our integrated card reader means that payments can now be made on all card types, including contactless bankcard, concessionary passes and other ITSO commercial smartcards, and even Apple and Android pay, creating more flexibility for passengers, and helping operators remove cash off bus.”
