Ticketer will be demonstrating the latest innovations in Mobility as a Service at IT-TRANS 2020

27 February 2020

Ticketer, the UK’s leading smart ticketing provider, offers disruptive technology by working with operators to push the boundaries of innovation.  Ticketer’s responsive software and devices are deployed on over 23,000 buses, trams, trains, hovercraft and even horse trams.

Many bus operators in the UK have benefited as Ticketer has relentlessly pursued a decade of technical innovations, which include Ticketer’s cloud-hosted back office, contactless payments, and the latest developments of EMV Tap On / Tap Off technology.  With location-aware GPS tracking on all devices, operators receive accurate, real-time visibility of all buses, enabling them to monitor sales, manage service changes and ensure punctuality.

As well as multiple offices in the UK, Ticketer has now started its international expansion across Europe and the Americas.

Alongside showcasing its latest innovations in Tap On / Tap Off readers for A-B and zonal fare structure, Ticketer will be focusing on Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and the opportunity for public transport to lead the way with innovative mobility solutions at IT-TRANS in Karlsruhe, Germany.  Ticketer believes that MaaS is key to industry growth, offering passenger solutions based on their travel needs such as advising on the best multi-modal journey, enabling travel to be booked in a simple, intuitive manner and finally delivering payment of the fare in a seamless and convenient way.

Antonio Carmona, Ticketer’s International General Manager has been invited to share his thoughts during the ‘Digitalisation of Ticketing’ forum on the 3rd March, Hall 1.  His presentation will discuss how Account Based Ticketing systems can make the passenger experience as simple and as seamless as possible, regardless of which mode of travel or operators they travel with.

John Clarfelt, Ticketer’s CEO, comments: “Our industry is about to undergo enormous change in the way people move around and how they pay for their travel.  Our solutions enable operators to provide these services and join up the technology to finally make MaaS a reality.  We are already delivering fare-freedom with our range of payment options, including multi-token Account Based Ticketing, and together with our award winning passenger app, Kazoot we are meeting the future needs of the passenger today.  All of this technology will finally position public transport as the most convenient, affordable and sustainable form of travel for everyone.”
