Ticketer is announcing two exciting new product launches at this year’s Euro Bus Expo. The company is using the NEC event to demonstrate a new Demand Response Travel (DRT) solution to integrate ticketing with dynamic scheduling and Tap on/Tap off technology for even faster boarding and account-based ticketing.
Tap on/Tap off enables operators to offer the most convenient and flexible fares for passengers. It facilitates variable and distance-based charging, so passengers automatically pay the correct fare for their journey. Tap on/Tap off also speeds up boarding as passengers no longer need to request a ticket and it provides operators a wealth of data on passenger journeys for more accurate capacity planning and fare charging.
Ticketer is also adding DRT features to their ticket machines to integrate ticketing into services that can be run according to passenger demand, such as traditional community transport services to a new wave of ‘crowd-sourced’ dynamic services that operators are looking to introduce to provide a more tailored service offering.
Visitors to Stand T76 in the technology zone will also be able to find out more about ZipTrip, Ticketer’s passenger App. ZipTrip is already proving to be very popular with Ticketer’s customers, as it provides passengers with real time information such as live departure times, bus locations, detailed route information and how to find the nearest bus stop as well as an mTicketing solution that can be directly configured from the same back office as operators use to configure their ETMs.
John Clarfelt, Ticketer’s Managing Director, comments: “Our new product development team have been particularly busy this year and we are excited to share our innovations at Euro Bus this year. Our products are designed to make it as easy as possible for passengers to use the bus, get more people to use the bus, give passengers every payment option that they might require and to give our operators all the information they need to improve the efficiencies of their bus services.”
The company’s industry leading contactless ETMs have been the focus for the company since the last Euro Bus Expo event. The latest features of the Ticketer ETMs, which are available to all customers of all fleet sizes, will be available for visitors to explore.
