Ticketer products - Driver Messaging

Ticketer ETMs support a driver messaging feature which enables operators to keep in touch with drivers through text messages. With the driver messaging feature, operators can simply send important announcements and service updates directly to one or more drivers, drivers on nominated services or a nominated depot or even vehicles. And as Ticketer ETMs are always online, messages are received almost instantaneously, avoiding the costs and inconsistencies associated with radio broadcasts.

Messages are queued for the driver, and will be delivered as soon as they log in. Should a message not be relevant outside of a certain time period (such as temporary road works), then a valid from and/or an expiry date for that message can be defined which will be used to automatically when to display any messages in each driver’s ‘in-box’.

When safe to do so, drivers can communicate with the control room through a set of user-defined “canned” subject headers, including emergency situations, or freeform text, which are available to view from the web-based portal or can be automatically forwarded to one or more external email addresses. There is a handy ‘Save Draft’ option available where the current composed message can be saved and continued at a later date.

Avoid unnecessary costs

Important announcements and service updates are made available to drivers efficiently and effectively, avoiding the costs and inconsistencies associated with radio broadcasts.

SEND messages to drivers quickly

Drivers receive messages from base almost instantaneously. Drivers can reply to messages and compose new messages e.g. traffic issues, lost property etc. Messages can also be sent in advance on certain dates and/or times, notifying drivers of planned roadworks, diversions etc. And can also expire at set times for messages which are no longer required.

CANNED TOPICS

When safe to do so, drivers can reply or compose new messages, and for ease, canned response options can be set up via the Ticketer Portal. When sending, messages can be sent to multiple or individual email addresses, such as head office or customer service for lost property enquires.

visual & audio message alerts

Messages can be accessed directly from the icon or via the options screen. To highlight the importance of a message, they can be colour coded, so important messages will appear in red. Unread messages will appear in bold.

SAVE DRAFT OPTION

All too often a message will be started, but will then be abandoned due to different factors. Now, there is no need to start again from scratch as there is a handy ‘Save Draft’ option available where the current composed message can be saved and continued at a later date.
